Obito was a kind-hearted, gentle soul, especially compared to the others of the Uchiha Clan. He was respectful of his sensei, Minato, as well as his crush, Rin, and even his rival, Kakashi.

Obito tried to be brave, but would often find himself afraid and in tears. Obito's quickness to cry has earned him the nickname of "crybaby ninja." Obito would always get defensive, saying that something was in his eye.

Often late, Obito would show up with lame excuses, such as helping an old lady with her bags. Kakashi would be quick to call him a liar, while Minato would seemingly believe him.

He was also understanding, after his talk with Minato about Sakumo Hatake, Obito's view of Kakashi changed because he understood why Kakashi cared so much about the rules. So when it was time for Kakashi to take over as leader when Minato left, Obito was willing to follow his command.
